Abstract

1278858 Electro-photography RANK XEROX Ltd 22 June 1970 [25 June 1969] 30095/70 Heading G2H A web 1 having an electrostatic latent image is passed through a liquid developer bath 8, a first rinsing bath 9 containing liquid having a bp of 150-350‹C., residual liquid being removed by air doctors 15 and 16, and a second rinsing bath 10 containing more volatile liquid, residual liquid being removed by squeeze rolls 20 and 21. The first rinsing liquid may be employed until it contains a concentration of toner which is one tenth that of the developer. The air doctors may be followed by a pair of rolls 18 and 19 or by roll 18 only, roll 19 being omitted. The first rinsing liquid may be kerosene. The second rinsing liquid may be ligroin, tetrachlorodifluoro ethan or an isoparaffin.
