Abstract

1278675 Separating particles from gases; E C HUNGATE 1 July 1969 55757/71 Divided out of 1278674 Headings B1R and BIT An eliminator for removing particles of liquid from a gas stream comprises a plurality of vertical zig-zag plates 31, 32 (Fig. 2) spaced apart to provide gas flow passages which are closed at their lower ends by a wall 84 (Fig. 3) sloping downwardly in a direction opposite to the direction of gas flow, and a baffle 80 at the inlet to the eliminator to reduce the effect of the gas flow on liquid draining down the wall 84. A block 83 of urethane foam may be disposed in each gas flow passage between adjacent biz-zag plates as shown. The eliminator is particularly for use in gas washers.
