Abstract

1278512 Boots &c M FELDER 17 Sept 1969 [19 Sept 1968] 45728/69 Heading A3B An anti-slip device for attachment to footwear for walking on snow and ice consists of a plate 3 with upstanding walls 5 having slots 4 by means of which the device may be strapped to the shoe, and a toothed bar 1 which can be rotated from its operative position, as shown, through 90‹ to an inoperative position. The bar 1 is mounted on an axle 2 which can be rotated in bearings 9, 10 by a lever 11, the lever being locked in one or two positions by a bolt 16 engaging holes 17. Other locking means for the lever 11 include spring loaded catches on the lever 11 and a resilient lever 11 which engages notches in a catch plate on the wall 4. The plate may be formed in two parts 3, 3' (Fig. 2) so as to be adjustable in breadth the axle 2 being clamped in position by a wing nut 12.
