1278505 Floor conveyers GEO W KING Ltd 1 May 1970 [9 June 1969] 29120/69 Heading B7L A floor conveyer comprises an endless drive chain 10 travelling in a channel 22 provided in a floor, said chain having at spaced points along its length upstanding drive dogs 18 whereby movement may be imparted to load trolleys or carriers supported on the floor; the chain comprises members 14 and cover plates 20 whose upper surfaces are flush with one another and also with the floor surface, thus effectively closing the channel and preventing the ingress of dust and foreign matter therein. The chain further comprises inner and outer links 11, 12 interconnected by pins 13, the pins projecting upwardly from the links to locate and retain the members 14. These members are provided with ribs or lateral projections 15 which provide supporting skid surfaces by seating on running strips 24 mounted on upper flanges of the channel 22. The ribs 15 are also overlapped by cover strips 25 mounted in spaced relation with the running strips 24 to prevent dust and dirt reaching the skid surfaces. In addition to the drive dogs 18, rotatable rollers 19, which steer the rear ends of the load carriers, are mounted on the members 14, at spaced intervals along the chain.
