Abstract

1277987 Cutting apparatus J K O CUTTERS Ltd 19 April 1971 [24 March 1970] 14056/70 Heading B4B A machine for cutting sheet material e.g. plastics laminated sheet, comprises at least one pair of discs one of which has a peripheral groove 29, the discs being rotatable in opposite directions whereby the sheet is cut with a shearing action as it passes between a pair of rotating discs. The discs are rotated by means of an electric motor 2, gear-box 3 and a chain-andsprocket drive 5, 20, 24, 25. Although the machine is self-feeding a pair of pressure rollers (37, 38) Fig. 1 (not shown) is provided. A pair of pressure pads (32) serve to maintain the material in contact with the feed and delivery tables (30), 31 and also to strip the material from the cutting discs. Adjustable scrapers 39 are provided for removing waste material from the grooves 29.
