Abstract

1277679 Cultivator C VAN DER LELY NV 2 Sept 1970 [4 Sept 1969] 42068/70 Heading A1B A cultivator of the kind having a plurality of working members 3 rotatable about upright axes 2 and arranged side by side, transversely to the direction of motion (arrow A, Figs 1 and 3, not shown), of the cultivator, wherein substantially vertical screening plates 16 are provided adjacent the opposite lateral sides of the working path. A bar 13 on each side comprises a substantially vertical portion 15, to which the plate is attached, horizontal portion 14 running along the top of main frame 1, and a portion 12 turnably engaged in apertured lugs 11 which define an axis parallel to the direction of motion of cultivator. The plates may turn about these axes and thereby rise or fall to match any undulations in the ground. They may also be rotated through 180‹ to lie in an inoperative position on top of the main frame, the bars 13 then taking the position shown in dotted lines.
