1277348 Printed circuit board assemblies STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 2 June 1970 26630/70 Heading H1R Electrical equipment includes a plurality of printed circuit boards 10, each provided at one edge with a mounting member, each mounting member being hinged with its adjacent mounting members, so that each pivot is common to two adjacent members only and between the planes of the printed circuit boards secured to those mounting members. Each mounting member consists of a longitudinal strip (not shown) from which, flanges 11 project at rightangles to the plane of the strip; the circuit boards 10 being secured to the flanges 11 by screws. The longitudinal strip carries at each end a pair of flanges 13, 13a, each of which has a hole in it through which pins 15 pass to hinge adjacent members together. Holes are provided in the longitudinal strip through which connecting wires such as 18 may pass. Spring clips 16 fasten adjacent boards together, so that a plurality of such boards form a substantially rigid assembly. When access is required to one of the boards, the appropriate clip may be released and a section of the equipment rotated. The whole assembly can be retained in a carrier by sliding the brackets 13, 13a, which are in a straight line when all the boards are parallel, into channel sections in the carrier. This prevents pivoting, should any of the clips 16 become unfastened.
