Abstract

1277011 Gas burners RADIATION Ltd 29 May 1969 [1 March 1968] 10101/68 Headings F4F and F4T - An atmospheric gas burner comprises a burner ring 1 (Figs. 2, 3) a burner cap (Figs. 5, 6) and a flame retention cap 28 (Figs. 9, 10) which are assembled to form a main gas chamber between the burner ring 1 and the burner cap and a secondary gas chamber between the burner cap and the flame retention cap 28; a plurality of main burner orifices fed by the main gas chamber are formed between gaps 25 in the burner cap and the burner ring, and a secondary gas chamber in communication with the main gas chamber via restricted orifices 19 is itself in communication with a secondary burner orifice formed between the burner cap and the flame retention cap 28 and located adjacent to and above the main burner orifices. At this secondary orifice is formed a secondary retention flame directed towards the main burner flames formed at the main orifices. The burner ring 1 includes an internally threaded passage 6 to which is attached an ignition burner adapter (32) and to this adapter (32) is threadably attached an ignition burner (33) or (55): the structure and modus operandi of these components is described in the abridgement of copending Specification 1,277,012.
