Abstract

1276730 Centrifugal separator HEINZ JANETZKI KG MASCHINENBAU 30 May 1969 27617/69 Heading B2P [Also in Division G2] A process for testing biological fluids, in particular blood, comprises retaining a transparent dish having a cover 10 and baseplate 9 between a screw-threaded ring 12 and a plate 1 horizontally mounted on the vertical shaft 2 of a motor 3, placing a drop of the fluid through a cover aperture 13, centrifuging and dyeing to form a film and then observing through a pivotable magnifying glass 8 the film illuminated by a lamp 6. The baseplate 9 may be provided with a radial scale and a grating for reading off haematocrytes and counting out white and red blood corpuscles respectively. A regulator 14 controlled by a time switch 15 governs the speed of centrifuging and a magnet-armature 19 carried by plate 1 acts via an induction coil 20 on a speed counter 21 and revolution counter 22. A speed measuring mechanism 17 and timemeasuring mechanism 18 control a circuitbreaker switch disposed in the motor-current circuit 16. The annular wall of the dish may comprise chamfered webs 23, 24, or a rubber ring slotted into recesses in the baseplate and cover.
