Abstract
1276685 Pusher type furnaces DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 15 Sept 1969 [27 Sept 1968] 45313/69 Heading F4B [Also in Division H5] A pusher type furnace for sintered metal comprises an elongated chamber 10 traversed by graphite boats 12 and heated by a pair of upper graphite rods 13 and a lower graphite rod 14 in a duct 11. The slipway 16 for the boats is made of silicon carbide and the walls of high porosity alundum blocks 17 surrounded by heat insulating bricks 18. In a modification (Figs. 3 and 4) for heating in vacuo, the outer casing carries the current leads and the walls are made of graphite panels with an insulating backing of graphite fibre.
