Abstract

1276346 Transmission line matching SIEMENS AG 3 Sept 1969 [5 Sept 1968] 43692/69 Heading H4R Flexible transmission line, 1, is connected to transmitter and receiver by respective plug or socket connection members, 7 and 10, with buffer units, 6 and 9, arranged respectively between the line and the pins of the plug or socket connectors, to isolate the plug and socket connections, and their possibly unmatched impedance, from the line and provide matched termination for the line. As shown and described the line is connected to terminals 4 and 5 in the connector housings, 2 and 3, and the receiving end connector housing contains a terminating impedance 8. Also described is a buffer unit for use with pulse transmission which uses "NOR" gates at the transmitting and receiving ends of the lines, Fig. 2 (not shown).
