Abstract

1430508 Sets FUJI XEROX CO Ltd 3 June 1974 [8 June 1973] 24559/74 Heading H4J An electromagnetic coupling device 1 for use with a telephone set 2 having a hand hole 3 in the rear thereof is such that a connection with facsimile or other communications equipment (not shown) may be readily effected. The device 1 comprises a hollow plug having in it two wire windings (see Fig. 2, not shown), the wire of one of the windings being substantially thicker than that of the other. Preferably the two windings are electrically connected in series and are wound on a ferrite core. The thicker wire is for transmitting electrical signals to the telephone set 2 and the thinner wire is for receiving electrical signals from the telephone set 2. A lead wire 13 from the plug device 1 has a first electrical conductor connected to the junction point between the two windings and second and third electrical conductors connected to the end points of the windings. Leaf-springs 5, 8 within grooves 6, 7 assist retention of device 1 in the hand hole 3. Upper and lower grooves 9 assist insertion and removal. The rear of device 1 is slightly thicker than the front.
