Abstract

1275955 Cutlery SANDERS & BOWERS Ltd 8 Sept 1970 [11 July 1969] 34930/69 Heading B4K A flat-tanged article of cutlery comprises a handle 10 having an end slit 12, a round hole 13 having a diameter equal to the width of tang 3 and a counterbore 16; the tang is held in the handle by a plug 17 which screws on to the end 19 of the tang. Initially the plug is longer than the counterbore but after fitting the excess length is removed. Slit 12 receives a portion of the shank 4. The handle is plastics or other non- metallic material and the tang may only extend about half the length of the handle, the counterbore then being correspondingly longer.
