Abstract
1275814 Shovel excavators; grab excavators ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 5 Nov 1969 [6 Nov 1968] 54109/69 Heading E1F [Also in Division G1] A controller for an excavator comprises angular displacement transducers 18, 19, 20 providing electrical feedback signals to an electrical control unit 21 the signals indicating dispositions of the boom 11, jib 12 and grab 14 which signals are compared with control signals from transducers 27, 28, 29 representing dispositions of parts of a simulator 22 in the form of a scaled down model of the excavator which dispositions are manually controllable. The resultant error signals from the control unit are fed to electro-magnetically actuated valves controlling hydraulic actuator cylinders 15, 16, 17 which move the excavator parts to dispositions corresponding to those of the simulator.
