Abstract
1275523 Inverting PILLAR CORP 9 April 1970 [14 April 1969] 17010/70 Heading H2F [Also in Division H1] Corona discharge plastics treating apparatus comprises means 14 positioning the plastics to be treated relative to an electrode 10 which is fed by a power supply circuit including a resonant circuit 44, 46 connected to the junction between two rectifiers 24, 26 connected in series across a D.C. source 22, a triggering means 28 for alternately rendering the rectifiers conductive at a frequency approximating that of the resonant circuit, each rectifier 24, 26 having a saturable non-linear inductance 34, 36 in series therewith, and a feed-back network 32 for re- turning power to the source 22. The controller 28 includes a variable frequency oscillator enabling a variable voltage in a frequency range of 1 to 50 kHz to be supplied to the electrode 10. Modified circuits (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown) include additional components to provide voltage or current doubling.
