Abstract

1,274,384. Feeding device for vibratory screens. ELECTROMAGNETS Ltd. 19 April, 1971 [12 March, 1970], No. 11855/70. Heading B2H. [Also in Division B8] A screening apparatus comprises a vibratory screen 11, a vibratory weir member 19, and a static feed hopper 15 for feeding particulate material to be screened to the weir member, the weir member being arranged to vibrate with the screen and having an edge 22 forming a weir, the weir being arranged so that at least some of the material from the hopper has to pass upwardly over the weir before delivery to the screen thereby restricting the flow of the material from the hopper. The screen 11 carries a framework 1 which supports bearings 18, one on each side of the hopper 15. The bearings pivotally support the weir member 19. The hopper has a discharge opening 16 at its lower end. The weir member 19 is pivotally adjustable about its bearings 18 in order to vary the height of the weir 22 with respect to the delivery opening 16 of the hopper thereby adjusting the feed rate from the hopper.
