Abstract
1520885 Screening apparatus SIMPLICITY ENG CO 14 Aug 1975 33857/75 Heading B2H In a vibratory screening apparatus in which a screen 42 is supported by a plurality of spaced elongate rigid members 52 extending transversely underneath the screen, at least some of the members are provided with a metallic shield 90 which is in the form of an inverted trough and serves to protect the member from abrasion by the material passing through the screen. In the embodiment shown, a frame supported by springs 16 and vibrated by means of a rotating eccentric shaft 27, supports two screens 42 and 42' whose edges are clamped by clamps 44 to rails 23 which form a part of the frame. Each screen is supported by a plurality of cylindrical tubes 52 extending between side members of the frame, each of the tubes being protected against the abrasive effects of the material being screened. The tubes 52a nearest the material supply chute 36 are protected by a layer 58 of rubber, Figs. 4 and the remainder of the tubes 52b are protected by a metallic shield 90, Fig. 7 which is welded to rods 96 welded to the tubes. Brackets 70 welded to steel rods 73 or 73a attached to the tubes 52a and the shields 90 respectively support longitudinally extending bars 68 and rails 76 which support the screen. Each screen may be formed of a perforate steel plate 46 covered by a perforate layer 48 of rubber.
