127,406. Potter's Asbestos Co., Bridge & Co., D., and Bridge, R. May 30, 1918. Rolling-machines.-Relates to apparatus. for making joint-making packing in sheet form from rubber and asbestos fibres. Materials from mixing-vessels A are delivered by conveyers B to a distributing mixer C from which the combined material passes to spreading-rolls D, round which pass two endless bands E. The consolidated material is carried by the bands E through the series of heated chests F, and is stripped from the bands after passing the rolls G. The material then passes through further pairs of rolls H, H<1> and surfacing material is supplied to one or 'both surfaces from hoppers h<1>. After passing polishing-rolls H<2>., the material is carried over guide rolls L so placed that both surfaces can be readily inspected. The material is delivered by the feed drum N to one or other of the batching-rolls O. Rotary cutters are provided to trim the edges and a guillotine knife P for cutting off lengths. Trade marks &c. may be embossed by rollers M.
