Abstract

20,485. Steele, H. R. March 10, 1913. Stream-cutting machines; rolling-machines ; processes.-In the manufacture of fibro-plaster sheets, slabs, &c., the materials are mixed dry in a hopper 1 fitted with mixing-devices 2, and the dry mixture is then delivered through doors 3, 4 to a second hopper 7, where it is moistened by jets 9 and mixed by devices 8. The moistened material passes on to a shoot 13 and beneath an adjustable sheeting roller 14, and is conveyed by a band 16 beneath an adjustab'e roller 17 furnished with a knife 18 which severs the material into slabs. A faster-moving band 20 conveys the cut slabs into a press 21 which is provided with a platen 27 resiliently mounted in the head 22. The press is operated by an eccentric 25 and links 23.
