Abstract

1,273,876. Hinged access panel for vehicles. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 22 April, 1970, No. 19402/70. Heading E2F. In a vehicle, e.g. a tractor, in which an access panel is pivoted to the body, the body 1 has a slot 9, an edge of the slot having a cylindrical element 11 fixed thereon, and the access panel 3 has a channel element 21 conforming to and seated on the element 11. A stop 27 is fixed to the body and co-operates with the panel to prevent the tangent to the free edge of the channel 21 becoming aligned with the slot 9 and hence prevents the parts separating. The stop 27 is of rubber and arranged to hold the surfaces 7, 17 in a common plane. The panel 3 may be shifted relative to the body to be held in the open position as shown in Fig. 4.
