Abstract

903,115. Window construction. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. May 29, 1961 [June 24, 1960], No. 19244/61. Class 20 (3). A window construction particularly for vehicles comprises a frame with an inwardly extending wall section 29 and a flange 31, 32 extending from the wall section into the window opening, a formed member 34 with a first channel 37 which receives the edge of window 15 and a second channel 36 and a resilient sealing member 16 interposed between the formed member and the wall section which is rebated to receive the first channel 37 and grooved 22, 19 to receive a wall 38 of the second channel and the flange 31, 32. The formed member may be provided with an extension, Fig. 3 (not shown), which extends inwardly at an angle to wall 38 and is secured to the frame structure. The arrangement provides a minimum offset between the plane of the window and the outer surface 11 of the vehicle.
