[Also in Division Gl] A generator for producing respective pulses in separate ones of a pair of circuits L 1 L 2 Fig. 1 at respective predetermined positions of a rotatable shaft 3 comprises a pair of members 4, 5 each having a single aperture therein, mounted to be angularly adjustable relative to one another on a common shaft and rotatable in the field or beam of a common energy source L 3 positioned between them, and a pair of sensors L 1 L 2 responsive to the energy from the source on the opposite sides of the two members. The predetermined position indicator may be a transparent portion of a disc rotatable in a light beam between a source and a transducer or may allow or inhibit by means of a radial slot the magnetic or electrical coupling between windings in for example the feedback path of an oscillator. The arrangement is said to be useful in the control of sewing machine operations and an attachment for coupling to the shaft end of a sewing machine is described. A transistor oscillator circuit including provision for temperature compensation is described.
