Abstract

The generator has its magnetic field generated by a device held by a first part of a holder. A sensor held by the second part of the holder responds to the magnetic field to produce an electrical signal proportional to changes in the field. A shutter moves across between the sensor and field-generating device to produce these changes in the magnetic field, thereby causing a signal to appear at the sensor's output. The sensor comprises a coil. The shutter is made of a superconducting material that is impermeable to the magnetic field in the region of absolute zero. The shutter is maintained at a temp. near absolute zero.
