[Also in Division F4] A furnace regulating device 1 for controlling the forced air supplies to differing zones of a furnace grate (not shown), comprises an adjusting yoke 3, to which are pivotably secured adjustable regulating linkages 2, each of which is connected to a damper (5, Fig. 1, not shown) which controls the air flow to one zone of the grate. The ends of the yoke 3 are pivotably secured to members mounted on threaded spindles 4 which spindles may be rotated at different speeds or to different extents in the same or opposite directions, through individual drive means 19, so that the position and inclination of yoke 3, and thus the displacement of the linkages 2 and the dampers may be varied as required, to regulate the air supplies to the different zones. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the yoke may be formed in two or more hinged parts, being pivotably attached to two end driving spindles and one or more central spindles. All of these spindles may be independently driven or those in the centre may be driven independently of the synchronously driven end spindles. A common drive unit such as an hydraulic or electro-mechanical differential transmission may drive the individual drive means 19 by way of intermediate shafts 12, 13 from which a number of the devices may be driven.
