A frame having standard I.S.O. corner fittings 15 is secured to the end of a tank 11 by bearers 10a, 10b which comprise backing plates 13 which are shaped to bear against the shell and end of the container and projecting flanges which are connected to members 18, 19 of the frame. The connections are made by welding.
