Armour and armour-plating.-Consists of metal plate having the outer face formed with closely set recesses or small closed holes, the intervening walls of which have a less thickness than that of the solid portion of the plate. A plate may be all of a piece as shown in Figs. 1 to 4, or may be built up as shown in Fig. 6.
