Abstract

1,272,371. Earth-moving bowl type scrapers. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. 2 July, 1970 [15 July, 1969], No. 32080/70. Addition to 1,175,466. Heading E1F. To allow of vertical adjustment of the path of movement of the lower edge of the apron 52' of the earth-moving bowl scraper of Parent Specification relative to the scraper blade 42' thereof, the scraper is modified by mounting the motor-driven crank mechanisms 66', 76', by which the apron can be caused to move to and fro in the bowl to move earth to the rear of the bowl, on jack-swingable arms 102 pivotally mounted on the sides of the bowl about an axis 64' extending parallel to the lower apron edge. Preferably the apron-supporting arms 56' pivotally connected between the upper edge of the apron and the sides of the bowl pivot about the same axis as the arms 102. The path of the lower edge of the apron may be of cylindrical or elliptical form.
