Abstract
1,137,817. Earth-moving bowl type scrapers. CATERPILLAR. TRACTOR CO. 20 Oct., 1967 [27 Oct., 1966], No. 47777/67. Heading E1F. The apron 29 of a bowl type scraper is pivoted at 43 to one end of a structure 39 that extends across the top of the front of the bowl and is pivotally secured at the other end at 34 to arms 32 lying parallel to and swingably mounted at 33 on the sides 13 of the bowl 11 of the scraper. Independently operable pairs of rams 44, 48, 53 extend between the bowl sides 13 and the arms 32, the arms 32 and the structure 39, and the structure 39 and the apron 29. Thus independent swinging of the arms 32 with respect to the bowl 11, the arms 32 with respect to the structure 39, and the structure 39 with respect to the apron 29 may occur as required to permit of the apron 29 scraping material into the bowl 11, holding material in the bowl, ejecting material from the bowl, cleaning material off of the ejector 14 of the bowl, or being positioned so as to allow of unimpeded passage of material into or out of the bowl.
