Abstract

1,272,359. Valves. TRW Inc. 15 Oct., 1970, No. 49137/70. Heading F2V. A valve comprises two flaps 6, 8 pivotally attached to a support member 18 in a conduit 2 and a piston 30 to move the flaps between open and closed positions. Actuating fluid is supplied through a conduit 40, which may alternatively be arranged in the member 18, and the piston may be spring-biased to either the open or the closed position of the flaps. Magnets arranged in cavities in the flaps prevent chatter when the valve is open and a further magnet 50 operates a proximity switch 52 to indicate the valve's position.
