Abstract

1,272,166. Expansion joints. ACME HIGHWAY PRODUCTS CORP. 9 Sept., 1970 [10 Sept., 1969[, No. 43191/70. Heading E1B. An elastomeric sealing strip 10 comprises a plurality of spaced tread members 30a-f and an internal supporting truss structure, the spaces 31 between the webs being approximately equal to the width of the treads. The intermediate treads 30b-e are slightly lower than the edge treads, and the sidewalls 16 and 18 are adhered to the slabs 12 by adhesive 14. Other embodiments disclose modified truss structures. The thickness of the truss members is approximately half the treadwidth.
