Abstract

1509758 Tunnel linings SEMPERIT AG 1 Dec 1975 [2 Dec 1974] 49204/75 Heading E1F A wall cladding or tunnel lining made of prefabricated slabs 1 of e.g. concrete has sealing means arranged in a gap 2 between adjacent slabs, these means comprising a foil 3 of elastic material arranged on one wall of the gap 2 and preferably secured thereto by an adhesive film 5, and at least one sheet 4 of elastic material bearing against the foil 3 and arranged on the other wall of the gap 2, and having a thickness in the installed state substantially greater than that of the foil 3. Preferably at least two sheets 4 are arranged side by side with a gap between them (Fig. 2), and the surface facing the foil 3 may be corrugated. The opposite surface of the sheet 4 may also be corrugated but has flat surfaces for adhesion to the slab wall. The foil 3 may be 1 to 3 mm thick, and the thickness of the sheet(s) 4 preferably decreases by half on installation. Each slab 1 may be provided with two abutting sheets 4 and two associated foils 3 (9 and 10 respectively in Fig. 8) arranged in a frame structure, the corners of adjoining sheets 4 being thickened or provided with mushroom-shaped projections (Figs. 5, 7, not shown).
