Abstract

1319683 Expansion joint HELKA SA 19 June 1970 [20 June 1969] 29849/70 Heading E1B In an expansion joint, in order to prevent lifting up due to upward bowing under lateral compression of the elastomeric packing piece 7, the latter is provided with a plurality of projections 13 which are each encased in a rigid metal block 14 held in position by washer 16 and screw 15. Embedded in the side surfaces of the packing piece are two series of equispaced identical metal edge members 8 interconnected by members 9, each member 8 having two flanges at right angles, one of the flanges being formed with two flaps (8b Fig. 2) which extend parallel to the other flange but in the opposite sense and are embedded in the elastomeric material, the other flange being provided with bolt holes for receiving a bolt 6.
