Abstract

[Also in Division Fl] An apparatus testing the flow of liquids through nozzles comprises a source of liquid under pressure, 10, a manifold in which are mounted a standard nozzle (not shown) and one or more nozzles to be tested 36 so as to be in communication with said source of liquid, a valvehead 27 for interrupting the flow of liquid to the nozzles 27, and separate containers 45 to receive liquid from each of said nozzles. As shown tank 10 is pressurised via a connector (not shown) by means of a hand pump 17. The nozzles are connected to the liquid tank via bores 31 and annular chamber 35. Alternatively the bores 31 can be replaced by a conically shaped chamber. In a modification of the apparatus the nozzles are mounted on a straight tube connected at both ends to a source of liquid under pressure. The apparatus is used by connecting all the nozzles to the source of liquid for a set period of time and then comparing the volumes of liquid passing through each of the nozzles.
