Abstract

1,271,641. Amplifier circuits. EMI Ltd. 25 July, 1969 [4 June, 1968], No. 26524/68. Heading H3W. [Also in Division G1] An amplifier 1 has feedback which is insensitive to A.C. and small amplitude D.C. but sensitive to larger amplitude D.C. Such an arrangement can prevent blocking of the amplifier by charging of the input capacitor due to interfering signals. As shown the back-to-back rectifiers 9, 10 block low amplitude A.C. and D.C. feedback and the capacitor 12 by-passes higher amplitude A.C. from the feedback path. The circuit is particularly suitable for amplifying electrocardiogram or electroencephalogram signals in the presence of interference from diathermy or defillibration equipment.
