Abstract

1,270,668. Magnetic holding devices. RATCLIFFE ENG. CO. Ltd. 15 July, 1969 [4 Oct., 1968], No. 47172/68. Heading H1P. [Also in Division G1] A sine bar or sine plate having a machined surface 16 which in use abuts a workpiece comprises pot magnets 20 inserted in recesses in the surface 16 and held therein by bolts 22 the magnets being flush with the surface 16 and serving to hold the workpiece in abutting relationship with the bar or plate. Magnets 24 are also provided in the side surfaces of the bar or plate perpendicular to the surface 16.
