Abstract
1,269,288. Packaging machines. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGUST HERBERT K. G. 30 Dec., 1969 [4 Jan., 1969], No. 63402/69. Heading B8C. In a packaging machine, commodities fall from a hopper 7 into a rotating drum 14 which carries them upwardly to an endless conveyer 9 from which they are discharged into containers 12 carried by a further endless conveyer 11. A plate 10 extends transversely above the conveyer 9 and is adjustable so as to regulate the height of commodities on the conveyer 9, thus metering the volume fed to the containers 12. The plate 10 may extend diagonally across the conveyer 9, or be V-shaped, or be replaced by a helical worm or rotatable device having radial arms. The inside of the drum 14 has compartments 15 formed by radial walls 3, the commodities being retained in the compartments 15 by arcuate plates 4.
