Abstract

1,268,895. Delivering sheets. GARTEMANN & HOLLMANN G.m.b.H. 9 April, 1970 [14 April 1969], No. 16958/70. Heading B8R. Flattened paper sacks issuing from a bottom folding machine are fed in overlapped relationship between pressing conveyer belts 1 and between driven and idler intake rollers 5, 6 on to spaced apart conveyer belts 2 running over a slide table 3. The rear edge of each sack swings downwards as it leaves the roller 5 and actuates the feeler arm 7 of a counter 8. When a predetermined number of sacks has been counted, suction devices 15 are raised and connected to a suction source by means of a magnet 17 so as to grip the sheet following a group of sheets to make up a batch. A carriage 13 carrying the suction devices and also carrying pressure rollers 26 moves to the left at the normal speed of the belts 1, 2, while the belts 2 are accelerated so as to create a gap between the gripped sack and the sacks in front. The suction devices are then lowered, the carriage returned, and the process repeated.
