Abstract

1,268,877. Separating liquid from wood chips. DEFIBRATOR A.B. 10 June, 1969 [4 July, 1968], No. 29258/69. Heading B1D. [Also in Division B8] Wood chips, treated with liquid or steam in vessel 46, are discharged therefrom by pocketted rotor 1 into trough 26 whence they are discharged into pressure vessel 42 by screw 25, the liquid of vessel 42 occupying the trough 26. The chips leave vessel 46 in moistened state and the surplus liquid is discharged from each pocket of rotor 1 via the respective channel 10 into discharge pipe 21. Liquid from rough 26 is withdrawn through sieve 27 by pump 29 which pumpsit through pipe 36 and a channel 10 so as to flush out chips from a. pocket 2 into trough 26, the liquid of which is thus circulated.
