Abstract

1,268,113. Dyeing carpets. TEXTILAUSRUSTUNGS GES SCHROERS & CO. K.G. 3 June, 1969 [15 June, 1968], No. 52357/71. Divided out of 1,268,112. Heading D1L. Apparatus for the continuous application of liquid to a travelling web of material comprises a trough 22 containing liquid mounted above and extending across the width of the web, a rotatable roller 21 mounted in the trough so that its lower portion is immersed in the liquid, and a blade 27 extending across the width of and downwardly towards the web having its upper edge in contact with roller 21 which rotates such that a film of liquid from the roller is deposited on the upper surface of the blade 27, characterised in that the upper surface of the blade is so shaped as to guide the film of liquid into separate liquid dispensing grooves 31 distributed along the blade such that the liquid falls freely under gravity. If desired the blade may be subjected to reciprocation.
