Abstract

126,770. Wells, E. P. May 7, 1918. Concrete vessels.-In reinforced-concrete ships, barges, and other vessels, the metal skeleton is built up of a series of cross frames a made up of flat bars having a bulbous or laterally extended inner edge b and a notched or perforated outer edge to receive reinforcing rods d.. These rods are held in place by wire loops g which secure them to a second set of rods f. Keelsons are formed in connexion with the bottom frames a, and are provided with reinforcing rods l connected by wires n to rods m. The concrete filling on opposite sides of the frames are connected by short hooked rods p passing through holes o, through which the concrete also extends.
