Abstract

14,915. Stockman, H. A. June 26. Reinforced concrete.-A skeleton is formed of a series of bottom or tension members 5, 6, Figs. 1 and 3, upper or compression members 1, 2, transverse members 3, 4 connecting the upper series and alternating with similar members 7, 8, 9 which connect the lower series, and inclined zigzag or truss members 10, 11, 12, 13. The longitudinal members consist each of two wires twisted together, the twists being reversed at the loops which embrace the transverse members. Extra rods 14, 15 may be added. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the upper and lower series are connected by transverse zigzag members 30, and longitudinal zigzag members 33.
