Abstract
1,267,503. Loose-leaf binders. PLANNING UNIT Ltd., and WHITECABLE Ltd. 23 May, 1969 [23 Feb., 1968], No. 9012/68. Heading B6E. A loose-leaf binder having a pair of covers 5, Fig. 8, is provided with an expansible back formed by a plurality of identical or different spine members 1, Fig. 4, or 13, provided on opposite longitudinal edges with beads 10 or grooves 11, such that adjacent spine members can be articulated to each other by interengagement of the beads and grooves, the covers 5 which have complementary beads or grooves on welded flaps 5b, Fig. 9, being articulated to the end spine members 1 and/or 13. The spine members 13 each have a channel which supports slidably and adjustably a number of sheetengaging members each of which in turn is provided with a pair of half rings 15 opening and closing with a snap action due to the toggle-lever like action of the base which supports the half rings. The spine members 1, 13 may be provided at their rear faces with channels 12, Fig. 8, serving for reception of identification labels. In one embodiment all the spine members 1, Fig. 1, are identical and are articulated to one another by hinges 2 which are interconnected by hinge pins 3. The covers 5 are provided with welded flaps 4 having complementary hinges 2.
