Abstract

1,266,974. Fuel injection systems. TOYOTA JIDOSHA KOGYO K.K. Aug.25, 1969 [Aug.28, 1968], No.42187/69. Heading G1N. In an I.C. engine fuel injection control system pulses are applied to solenoid valves, controlling the fuel injection nozzles, in synchronism with rotation of the engine. A number of switches 2a - 2d are provided corresponding to the number of cylinders, each switch being connected to a respective pulse shaping circuit 3a - 3d Fig. 2 (not shown) the outputs of two respective shaping circuits being connected to an adding circuit 4 and a sawtooth generator 5. The outputs of the two generators 5 are applied to respective comparison circuits 6 which each compare the generator output with a voltage resprentative of an engine operating parameter, e.g. intake manifold pressure, to produce pulses of duration corresponding to the engine operating parameter. These pulses are applied to the solenoid valves 9a - 9d, via drive circuits 8a - 8d, Fig.4 (not shown), in a sequence determined by bistable circuits 7, Fig.3 (not shown), which are triggered by the outputs of the shaping circuits to operate the drive circuits. The switches may be magnetically operated or cam operated by a member 12 mounted on a shaft 11 rotated at the same speed as the engine crankshaft.
