Abstract

126,692. Burn, R. Feb. 14, 1917. Barrels.-Relates to muzzle sockets for discharging grenades, and consists in securing the socket by a device formed separate therefrom. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the socket g screws on to a tubular plug b which is secured to the barrel by hooked levers d. The hooks are tightened in the recesses f by screw. ing the socket downwards. A valve s, Fig. 3, may be provided for varying the range. In a modification, Fig. 4, the socket screws into a sleeve m carried by a forked part o having a cross-piece n which engages a recess in the nose cap a.
