A collapsible cargo container for use in aircraft has side walls 22, 24 and 28, 30 which may be folded down over a base 12 and which, when erected, are positively coupled by sliding slatted walls 18 and 20. The slatted walls and their tracks 45 in the side walls have co-operating flanges and slots, Figs. 6-8 (not shown), to provide the coupling action. Alternatively, rollers on the slatted walls may engage undercut recesses in the side walls. A ridge piece 64 is detachably located between the side walls but plays no part in coupling them. The slatted walls may be partially or wholly withdrawn over the ridge piece for loading or collapsing the container. When wholly withdrawn, the slatted walls may be passed through interruptions 56 in the tracks for storage as shown in Fig. 3. The side walls are retained in their erected condition by releasable fastenings 36 and 66, 70. The slats of the walls 18 and 20 are formed of sheet material and are linked by hinges, Fig. 5 (not shown ). The hinges are covered by curved overlapping parts of the slats, which parts are centred on the hinge axes and provide a weather seal.
