Abstract
1,266,421. Leaf springs. STAHLWERKE BRUNINGHAUS G.m.b.H. 9 May, 1969 [10 May, 1968], No. 23851/69. Heading F2S. A single or multiple leaf spring supported at its centre on a saddle-e.g. in a vehicle suspension-is located by at least one stud projecting into a blind hole in at least one leaf, the blind hole not extending beyond the neutral plane of the associated leaf. In the case of multiple leaf springs, at least the leaf furthest from the saddle is required to be so centred. Figs. 1 to 3 (not shown) depict the application of the invention to a single-leaf spring. In Fig. 4, two spring leaves 1, 7 are secured to a saddle 9 by stirrups 16, 17 and both are centred by studs 10, 12 in respective blind holes 4, 13. In Fig. 5, a multiple leaf spring is held together by a bolt on which a nut 27 serves as the locating stud for a blind hole 4 in the leaf 1 furthest from the saddle.
