946,394. Axle connections for leaf springs. FODENS Ltd. Nov. 23, 1962 [Feb. 2, 1962], No. 4044/62. Heading B7D. In a tandem axle suspension each end of a leaf spring a is brought to a cylindrical form by having parts formed thereon or secured thereto and is surrounded by rubber-like blocks at the sides of the cylindrical portion and a C-section rubber-like member d, the cylindrical portion and rubber-like blocks and member being retained within a two-part housing h, through which the spring extends, bolted to axle casing g. As shown in Fig. 3 part cylindrical members c are located on the spring end by dowels and pairs of blocks e and f are provided at each side of the cylindrical portion so shaped that they can roll on one another during suspension movements.
