Abstract

1,266,207. Reciprocating generators. O. C. SELDEN. 25 Aug., 1970 [5 Sept., 1969], No. 44024/69. Heading H2A. In a modification of the dynamo-electric pulse generator of Specification 1,263,789, movement of the bi-stable pivoted armature 20 to reduce the gap (between 24 and 25) in the first magnetic circuit simultaneously opens a gap (between 25 and 50) in a further magnetic circuit, thereby increasing the force which needs to be applied to the key 28 to initiate, such movement. In Fig. 1 the further magnetic circuit includes the permanent magnet 12 and armature 20 (in common with the first magnetic circuit), a stud 50, the top mounting plate 1 and a bolt 3, which are now both made of magnetic material, and the lower mounting plate 2. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the two-pulse generator of Specification 1,263,789 is modified so that its second air gap closes completely.
