Abstract

126,618. Soc. C. Bonnaffous, Bozonnet, et Cie. May 6, 1918, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Milling-cutters.-In a milling-cutter for gear wheels &c., the enveloping surface of each tooth is generated by a straight line moving parallel to itself, the straight line being perpendicular to the axis of the cutter and inclined to the leading face of the tooth. The straight line moves along the trace a, b, Fig. 1, of the primary profile, which is at right-angles to the top of the tooth c, d. The motion is perpendicular to the plane of the trace, the plane being parallel to the axis of the cutter and inclined to the plane c, e of the cutting-portion of the tooth. The angle between the planes a, b, and c, e may be varied. The teeth may be integral with the cutter body or mounted on a hub forming the boss of the cutter.
