Abstract

[Also in Divisions B6, C4 and C5] A transfer sheet for use in stencil printing comprises a sheet of regenerated cellulose, paper laminated to a plastics film, plastics film, or a polymeric laminate coated with a leuco ink comprising: (a) at least one chlorinated normal paraffin having a chlorine content 30-60% by wt. and a viscosity of 0.2-25 poises at 25‹C, (b) dissolved in (a) a colourless dye precursor capable of forming a colour upon reaction with an electron-acceptive acid substance, and, (c) dispersed in (a) at least one fat, wax, oil or natural or synthetic high molecular weight substance (see Divisions C4-5). The sheet is used to print through a stencil on to paper coated with an electron-acceptor, e.g. acid clay, which develops the ink colour.
